This Privacy Policy explains how uptimecheck.hu (“Service”) collects and processes personal data when you visit our website, create an account, and use our monitoring features. The Service is owned and operated by URI webTECHNOLOGIES (“we”, “us”, “Controller”). More about the operator: uriweb.hu.

2) What personal data we process


Depending on how you use the Service, we may process:


A) Account & user profile data


  1. Name (optional), username (if used)
  2. Email address
  3. Password hash (we do not store plaintext passwords)
  4. Account settings, plan information, preferences
  5. API keys/tokens (if you generate them)


B) Monitoring data you provide or generate


  1. Monitors you create (URLs/domains/IPs/ports, check intervals, keywords)
  2. Notification contacts you add (email, phone number for SMS/voice if enabled)
  3. Incident/alert logs, status page configuration
  4. Heartbeat/cron identifiers and timestamps (if you use heartbeat monitoring)


C) Billing & payment data (if paid plans exist)


  1. Billing name, billing address, VAT ID (if provided)
  2. Subscription status, invoices, transaction references
  3. Important: Payment card details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card data.


D) Technical and usage data (website/app)


  1. IP address, device/browser data, log files
  2. Security logs, authentication events (login time, failed logins)
  3. Cookies and similar technologies (see section 9)



3) Purposes and legal bases (GDPR Art. 6)


We process personal data only where we have a legal basis:

  1. To provide the Service and perform the contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b))
  2. create and manage accounts, run monitoring checks, send alerts, display dashboards/status pages.
  3. To comply with legal obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c))
  4. accounting/tax obligations, responding to lawful requests.
  5. Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))
  6. security, fraud prevention, abuse detection, service reliability, customer support quality, internal analytics that are strictly necessary.
  7. We balance our interests against your rights and apply safeguards.

  9. optional cookies/trackers (analytics/marketing) where required, and optional communications where you actively opt in.

4) Who we share data with (recipients / processors)


We may share data with trusted service providers acting as data processors, only to deliver the Service:

  1. Hosting / infrastructure: URI webTECHNOLOGIES in Hungary
  2. Email delivery: URI webTECHNOLOGIES in Hungary
  3. SMS / voice notifications (if used): URI webTECHNOLOGIES in Hungary
  4. Payment processing (if paid plans exist): STRIPE
  5. Error monitoring / security tools (if used): URI webTECHNOLOGIES in Hungary
  6. Analytics: Google Analytics


All processors are bound by contracts under GDPR Art. 28 (data processing agreements) and are permitted to process data only on our instructions.

We may also disclose data:


  1. if required by law, court order, or competent authority;
  2. to protect our rights, users, and systems against abuse, fraud, or security threats.



5) International data transfers (outside the EEA)


If we transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as:

  1. an adequacy decision by the European Commission; or
  2. Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) plus additional safeguards where necessary.

6) Data retention (how long we keep data)

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:

  1. Account data: for as long as your account is active; after deletion we keep limited records for 30 days unless legal obligations require longer.
  2. Monitoring logs/incidents: typically 90 days (depending on plan), then deleted or anonymized.
  3. Billing/invoices: retained for 8 years as required by Hungarian tax/accounting rules.
  4. Security logs: retained for 180 days for fraud prevention and system security.


You can request deletion (section 8). Some data must be retained where law requires.



7) Security measures


We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including (as applicable):

  1. TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit
  2. access controls and least-privilege permissions
  3. password hashing
  4. monitoring and logging for security events
  5. backup and recovery procedures


No system is 100% secure; if a personal data breach occurs, we will follow GDPR requirements.



8) Your rights (GDPR Art. 12–22)


You have the right to:


  1. Access your personal data
  2. Rectify inaccurate data
  3. Erase data (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable
  4. Restrict processing in certain cases
  5. Data portability (for data processed by contract/consent and automated means)
  6. Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  7. Withdraw consent at any time (does not affect prior processing)

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will delete it where required.



12) Status pages and public information


If you enable a public status page, some information may be visible to the public depending on your settings (e.g., service uptime, incident messages). Do not publish personal data on public pages.



13) Business customers and Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

14) Changes to this Privacy Policy


We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may also notify users via email or within the Service.
